Stan (2000)

This little piece places 31st on channel 4's 100 greatest music videos for good reason it is a very powerful and thought inspiring video, set out a lot like the thrillers we studied last year it is psychological as it is all about an obsessive fan sending fan male to featured artist Eminem in a rap form which makes up for the  verses of the song as do the lettered replies from Eminem also in rap format.the fan expresses his rage at the artist for ignoring him and voices his delusional fantasies that he and Mr. Mathers  should "be together" and also styles himself to look like Eminem with shaven bleached blond hair and white vests, he does all of this in his pretty creep, damp, dark basement with lightning storms constantly raging outside which does make for some interesting watching in a silence of the lambs sort of way especially as his pregnant wife is upstairs worrying about his mental state of health as she rightly should be as in the climax of the video the ultimate fan kidnaps her, sticks her in the boot of a car and makes her commit involuntary suicide along with him.All things considered the Music Video captivates you with its dark and somewhat controversial narrative and reminds the viewer that the music industry isn't all song and dance.
